SECRET CITY

At the moment ‘Cursed’ is one of the most watched shows on Netflix – the story of Faerie sorceress Nimue and her strange involvement with Excalibur, Arthur and Merlin.
Well, I got there first.
‘Secret City’ is the story of Nimue - but a very different, contemporary take on Arthurian legend!
It’s the first part of the ‘Galhadrian Trilogy’ (to be followed by ‘Hunting Charlie Wilson’ and ‘The Knight with 1,000 Eyes’) and is perfect for kids!

Warning: Contains a knight with the unpronounceable name of Uallabh

‘Contains enough plot to power half a library’ - Scotsman Newspaper
‘A cracking read’ – The Sunday Post
‘Sent chills and thrills down my spine’ - Vivian French
‘A winner… a thrilling read… this book has it all’ - Derby Evening Telegraph
‘Thrilling’ - Newsround, BBC TV
‘Appealing and authentic’ - Sunday Herald
‘A guaranteed bestseller… a terrific read’ - The Afternoon Show, BBC Radio
‘An action packed, highly imaginative read’ - Bookfest
‘Fast moving and inventive’ - Scottish Book Collector

Father Figure

5/18/2020

I am both excited and a bit scared about this. I own City of the Dead, a ghost tour company in Edinburgh, Scotland. Weird but true. It investigates an entity known as The Mackenzie Poltergeist, in a locked section of Greyfriars Graveyard - which has become the best documented supernatural case of all time. In 2003, I wrote a novel about it called Father Figure – based on real events. The next week, my house overlooking the graveyard burned to the ground, destroying all the files. This year, I finally wrote it again. A week after I finished, the Coronavirus shut down my tours. Probably a coincidence, but you can judge for yourselves.

If you fancy reading the book, you’ll see why it took me almost 20 years before I got up the courage to publish it - and why I waited until I had moved to the other side of the world.

The paperback and e-Book will be out on June 8th. In the meantime, it’s available to pre-order in digital form at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087PXYJXB/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i12

Some of you may have kids (or are kids) and they're probably going stir crazy by now. Mine have developed a game where one puts a bucket on their head and the other hits it with a baseball bat (this is true).
Perhaps I can help keep them quiet for a while.
I'm going to give away my new thriller (ages 12 - adult) A Town Called Library for free. With perfect comic timing, it's about virus that wipes out most of the word.

Too soon? Aw, I like to think of it as topical. Besides, it's not depressing or dour. It's actually rather positive.

All you have to do is email janandrewhenderson@gmail, and say 'please send the new book'. I'll send it out to you.

Being a simple type, I've decided to use a much simpler website.
Being a simple type, I've no idea how to transfer my old blogs to the new site.
So I'm starting again. Keep checking back for fascinating insights and fun times.
Wait. My old blogs were much more erudite than this....  Must be the wine.
